Frequently Asked QuestionsOur most frequently asked questions are usually about appointments, therapy attire, equipment, physiotherapy, Pilates, assessments, hours and more.
To book an appointment, simply call us at 905-886-2673. Our direct line is open during normal office hours Monday to Saturday. Outside this time, please feel free to email us or leave us a voicemail message with your name, telephone number with the best time to reach you and we will return your call within 24 hours (excluding Sundays). During busy periods, you may be put through to our answering machine, please leave a message and we will get back to you. How long do appointments last? If it's your first time at Neurocore, or if you have previously been a patient at the clinic and are returning from after a long break from treatment or with a different condition, we'll book you in for an initial assessment. All initial assessments are 45 minutes in length. This allows the therapist time to check your medical history, examine you and start some treatment. After your initial assessment, follow-up treatment times vary between 30-60 minutes. Appointment duration also depends on the professional you are seeing and your goals. Do I need to arrive early for my first appointment? Absolutely! If you are a new patient to the clinic, we would appreciate if you arrived 15 minutes prior to your appointment as we have registration forms we need you to fill in. Can physiotherapy be provided at my home or do I have to come to the clinic? While therapy services are preferably offered in the clinic, we also provide services in the home, workplace, and school environment. Please note that there is travel fee for home, workplace and school visits. What are your consultation fees? Please contact us or see our pricing and policies page to learn about our therapy fee schedule. We can also fax or email you the fee schedule. How do I change an appointment and will a cancellation fee apply? If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please try to give us as much notice as possible. Please note that unless there are extenuating circumstances, the full fee will be billed if less than 24 hours notice is given. Do I need a referral from my doctor to book an appointment? Doctor's referrals are not necessary as Physiotherapist are "Regulated Health Professionals", able to accept self-referrals. It is however encouraged that your doctor is aware of your participation in Physiotherapy. We may need to collaborate with your doctor regarding your condition and would like to maintain open communication early on. Please be aware that some insurance companies require evidence of a doctor's referral before they agree to cover the cost of your appointment. How quickly can I get an appointment? We will try and accommodate you as soon as you call to book your appointment. Please be aware that we may need to request and receive approval from your insurance companies prior to booking your first appointment. What should I wear to my appointment? Please wear comfortable clothes such as long shorts, tights or leggings and t-shirts or tank tops. You may be required to be barefoot or in socks. What are your clinic hours and do you have after hours clinics? Please see our hours of operation. Do I need to bring a family member or support worker with me? If you feel more comfortable, a family member, friend or support worker may accompany you to your appointment. Please be aware that we may be required to limit the number of people that you bring due to space limitations and to reduce disruption. If you are less than 16 years old or an adult who needs personal assistance, we do request you have a chaperone. What does an assessment entail? An assessment will be tailored based on your specific condition. Generally, an assessment includes: Treatment sessions will aim to address your goals and will be based on your assessment findings.
