What is the Vitaglide Pro?

The VitaGlide™ is a wheelchair accessible fitness machine, with 7 levels of resistance to challenge the upper body. It uses a linear push-pull technology, to increase range of motion and involve many muscle groups, resulting in an effective and efficient workout . The "push-pull" motion of the VitaGlide helps to work the back and shoulder muscles, thereby promoting healthy shoulder mechanics.

NU STEP

What is the Nu Step?

The Nu Step is a recumbent cross trainer which provides simultaneous upper and lower body motion. Its smooth and natural semi–recumbent stepping action simulates a natural walking motion through its variable step length. The ergonomic design of the Nu Step minimizes joint stress and low back strain, while providing an opportunity for significant cardiovascular activity. Adapted grip handles and leg stabilizers are available for those requiring added support.

UPPER TONE

What is the Upper Tone?

The upper tone is a universal weight machine designed to allow people with quadriplegia to exercise and rehabilitate themselves truly independently. It does not require wrist cuffs. Its unique design features allow the wheelchair user to move around and between its three stations, as well as vary resistance, without assistance.

 

How can I benefit from using the upper tone?

It allows up to 16 upper body strengthening exercises that can all be completed in a seated posture.

Resistance pulleys allow you to train the upper body from a seated or standing position. Pulleys allow for the isolation of all major muscle groups ensuring you get a balanced workout! It allows for a varied amount of weighted resistance for those of all fitness levels.

The barrel is an arc that helps support the back and shoulders, neck, hips and thighs, depending on how you use it. It is a great rehabilitative tool for those recovering from stress, tension or injury and it provides a safe surface for deep stretching.

STABILITY CHAIR

The Pilates Chair (most commonly known as the Wunda Chair or Stability Chair) is a versatile exercise machine. While many of the exercises are performed seated on top and pressing down on the step/pedal with your feet, others entail lying on the floor, standing straight up, lunging forward or doing push-up like moves with the arms. More than 75 exercises can be performed on the Chair.

The Circle can be used in standing, sitting or lying down on your front, back or side to target a variety of upper and lower body muscles.

THERAPY BALLS

REFORMER

What is the Reformer?

Perhaps the most renowned of all Pilates equipment is the Reformer. With its sophisticated system of springs, straps and pulleys, more than 100 exercises can be performed on this surprisingly versatile apparatus.

Its unique gliding platform allows one to sit, kneel, stand or lie on their front, back or side. The user pushes and pulls off the foot bar or ropes using the arms, legs, wrists and ankles to slide back and forth along the rails in a controlled manner while the tension in the springs gently works the muscles.
