Alyssa Woronecki is a graduate of Humber College where she received her Fitness and Health Promotion Diploma as well as Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy Assistant (PTA/OTA) Diploma. Prior to graduating Alyssa was the Recipient of the Mary E. Pollard Memorial Award – demonstrating proficiency in the clinical setting in combination with sensitivity and caring towards clients.
Alyssa is a highly knowledgeable, skillful and caring Can-Fit-Pro Certified Personal Trainer. Since 2008, she has trained a diverse client base privately and in groups in homes, gyms and the community. She has trained several clients with work related and overuse injuries, rotator cuff injuries, sports injuries, back and neck pain and knee injuries.
In addition to her private setting experience, Alyssa also continues to work at Southlake Regional Hospital as a Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy Assistant in Neurological and General Rehab Unit. Her experience includes working with individuals with a variety of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's, Stroke, Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Gullian-Barre Syndrome. Alyssa's experience further extends to one-on-one and group Hydrotherapy treatment involving the use of water for pain relief and conditioning.
Alyssa provides her clients with a diverse knowledge base as reflected by her commitment to ongoing education. She recently became a Certified (MAT) Muscle Activation Techniques Jumpstart Practitioner. MAT is a newly developed systematic approach for evaluating and identifying muscular imbalances indicating that if they are not identified then the body will continue to utilize compensatory movements. The MAT technique looks at tightness secondary to weakness and provides skills to evaluate whether exercise is enhancing efficient motion or reinforcing compensation. Alyssa offers great skills and enthusiasm to the Neurocore team.
